DIY Sensory Cube

Writer's picture: Mummy SMummy S

New post: Exploring through play. This DIY sensory cube consist of several textures for babies to explore. What I have here is a plain wooden cube with a combination of scrap fabrics and cards. I also did a little pop up snail roll to add a little 3D effect. Materials are mostly from Daiso, crayola white glue from specialty stores, paper and fabric scraps. From left to right: White foam cut to a star, embossed paper (I used a left over wedding invitation), blue corrugated cardboard, red fabric scrap, green felt, white rope snail rolled with glue to secure. When baby is exploring each surfaces, you can tell him/her the colour (red? green?), texture (smooth? rough? furry?), shape (star? circle?). It's ok if baby doesn't play with it much at this stage. My boy just stared at it like an alien object 😅 Happy crafting!
