Mummy's very happy because we did a lot of things over the weekend including some bakes for the kids. Here, we made some tamago boro and little boy specifically requested for colours (I didn't plan to have any) so he chose 3 and I would say they came out pretty nice despite the initial mixture looks abit off colour. Looks like little tang yuan right? . The bake was a success and he even gave some to little sis to share. Reduced sugar and it's quite almost perfect. Yummy 😋 .

Here's the recipe for this yummy reduced sugar tamago boro!
Ingredients
1 egg yolk (~20g) Potato starch (120-140g), sifted Icing sugar 25g Any milk powder 15g (I used the kids formula milk)
Steps
Mix egg yolk and sugar till pale yellow.
Add milk powder and potato starch, in 2-3 additions.
Depending on the size of the egg yolk, you may need to add some milk/water to form a pliable dough. We added some food colouring at this stage and the colours came out quite slowly. I would prefer to colour the water first before adding to mix. Then it's "play-doh" time! 😂
Take a small portion dough and roll length wise till you get like a snake rope
Cut into pieces and roll them into small balls. This is very good activity for the toddler for hand eye coordination. Do note that the dough drys out pretty quick. so you gotta work fast!
Bake at pre heated oven at 170C for 12-15mins , or until it turns light golden brown.
