Winter Solstice Part 2

Throwback to winter solstice day. We made rice ball dumplings and made many many colours. Little boy loves playing with dough and this time he made his own colours with dyes. Toothpicks to get the dyes from the small tubs and stir mix into the dough. We tried some natural colours as well. Purple is from purple sweet potato, red from beetroot powder, blue from blue pea flowers, brown cocoa powder. Ain't they pretty? Little boy made some larger balls with the cookie scoop. The rice balls were then boiled and served with brown sugary sweet soup and crushed peanuts. Yummy!
