Simple Grooming Station

Writer's picture: Mummy SMummy S

Today there's a topic on mirrors for the little ones and I took some time to search for all my lost pictures 😅 and when finally found it, I realised this picture was posted in my private album. I wanna share this grooming station that I've made for little boy when he was 1years plus as part of our Montessori at home. Before this setup, Daddy noted that sometimes little boy would sit around watching at him groom and style his hair in the bathroom every morning before work. While us adults use the usual vanity, the child gets his own area for grooming as well. Hence, our humble little corner was born.

This set up consist of two simple items, a mirror and some hanging cup holders. During this sourcing for mirrors, mummy had a hard time to find them which should be light enough to install, safe for the kids to use and must be real enough to see own reflection. A lot of real mirrors are actually very heavy due to the glass when it is being manufactured. And glass being glass is dangerous when it is broken with all the shattered pieces. Some play pretend kids toys with mirrors parts usually tend to have that little shiny sticker to show a "mirror" but our practical life is so much more than that. With all those in mind, when we happen to find this acrylic mirror, it actually fits all our requirements! Lightweight, sticker back, super real image till you can see your pimple. And the best thing is, it's so beary cute! Perfect for the kids. And adding on the cup holders to complete the whole setup with the necessary items for grooming like comb, etc.
