Cooked Dough Part 1

Writer's picture: Mummy SMummy S

With a lot of DIY homemade play doughs recipes around, sometimes it can be difficult to decide which one to try out for your child. A couple of weeks back, little boy requested for play dough activity again. Our Play-Doh stash were getting abit "old" so we decided to make a batch ourselves and throw out the older ones.

While browsing for homemade dough recipes, this caught my eye. There is a note in this article that says cooked dough last longer. Interesting note because the previous DIY salt dough that Teacher made for little girl, did mould and turn bad very quickly within a few days. And we couldn't reuse them. This means it's quite wasteful especially if we don't always have expired flour that often. You can read more about the recipe in our previous posts.

Being a cooked dough, the recipe calls for heat and fire on stove. Little boy offered to help prepare the ingredients as usual but the critical steps involving heat and fire were done by mummy. His tasks also include selection and preparing colours for the doughs. We used icing colours as usual for them. To tell you the truth, while preparing this new dough, both of us were really looking forward on how this dough will result in. Cheap trills. 😂 Do check out the video on the texture of this play dough. Promise to update the recipe soon! Thanks for staying with us 😘
