Tummy Time Activities Part 2

New post: Exploring through senses. If you haven't get the app, I suggest you download this app called The Wonder Week by this doctor who studied babies behaviours. In this app, it will guide you (and reassure your sanity) through the stages (leaps) that your baby will go through from birth to 18months. There's information on baby's behaviours, changes at different leaps and how to help your baby. This literally become my bible during those tough situations! One of the early activities introduced during tummy time was to let babies feel their own bodies - by going naked of course! Here, my little boy was having his daily tummy time half naked (diaper still on). Usually before bed time, I'll wipe him down and let him feel his body and surroundings half nude. This helps him to develop his sense of touch and explore better without restrictions. Part of his head lifting exercise, we had a small mirror to let him see himself in it. Not sure if you noticed, for me whenever he sees himself and his motion, he tends to do some thinking and repeats if he likes or do even better. It's like the quality improvement cycle. Beside mirrors, I let him see selfie from handphone camera and played back his action videos. Sometimes he will just laugh at his silly actions 😂 If you find the app useful, you can read more about the leaps you baby is going through from the book. For me, the app is good enough and also with some reading from sleep regression sites 😁
