New post: A trip to local farm in Taiwan part 1. We survived the many hours by plane, slow train and cab to this ranch! Flying cow ranch is located near Miao Li (somewhere between Taipei and Taichung), a 4hr slow train and 15min cab ride from Taipei. The owner of the place converted the area into a farm, park, factory all in one. The highlights are animals, local produce (milk and dairy products), lotsa DIY activities and animal encounters. Accommodations are also very clean and maintained. Don't worry the animals are about 15min walk away from lodgings, so really no smell! There's also the paid laundry and drier area if u need to wash any clothes. We can't wait for the animals! Little boy was so excited and always volunteer to feed them. Animal feeds are to be paid for by putting the coins beside the feed box. There are instructions for feeding for the different animals, so do take note. For mornings and maybe weekend, some younger animals like lambs 🐑 have milk feeds, it's quite fun to feed them with little milk bottles (also paid). I thought he will take the bottle to drink himself but surprisingly he knew it's not for him 😂 I myself tried feeding the calf, reminds me of my breastfeeding days 😅 I was a moo moo too 🐮 Pony ride was fun too. At first he didn't wanna go near. But moments later he was riding the pony like a pro. Even singing song and rocking gently 😂 There's the adult horse if you yourself would like to try riding 🐴 We got the chance to touch the ducks feathers 🐔 this is one of the animal encounter shows. All animal encounters are free. The keeper will introduce them, their behaviours and do some exercises for them. Duck tail feathers are really soft! Other animal encounters include cow milking, calf milk feeding (suitable for older children), etc (these are the ones we went) Initially we thought the weekends be crowded. But it's really ok and that's when the fun begins! This is because they have more activities, more timeslots throughout the day and you can plan your time better.
