As sun is setting, the room gets darker naturally. I do not turn on any warm or small light and allow the room to get dark naturally. Latching and milk time starts. When she seemed to be in a light sleep period and stopped nipping, i say this to her:
"Good night Sylvia (kiss) Mummy, Daddy love you Korkor Skyler also loves you <What she did today, praise> <What we gonna do tomorrow or next few days or that weekend and what we expect her to do> Dark dark already, it's night time, Sylvia need to go to sleep (For the first few weeks i added this sentence as well)
Sylvia sleepy go to sleep (More pat pat carry sway, etc) Sylvia sleep bed ok? Later Sylvia hungry, mummy will baobao you. Have a good night rest, sweet dreams, Mummy will see you in the morning Good night Sylvia Mummy daddy loves you (Kiss)
Korkor Skyler also loves you" (Put her on bed, if she wakes up, repeat everything again)
For example, coming sat/sun we will be visiting the grandparents' place and she is expected to give grandma carry (She screamed at grandma previously). There will be good n bad times. Most importantly, patience patience patience! You cannot change a person overnight moreover a baby. We count ourselves luckily during good days. At bad times I will just babywear her for some time, singing, patting, swaying gently before putting her down. My record was 2 hours putting her to bed, dinner at 10pm! It doesn't end here after you get baby in bed. For us, no lights on even when diaper change (unless it's a big one and using warm small light) this helps baby to know the difference between night and day. If she gets up to play we will let her be until she cries or needed something, eventually she will fall back to sleep by herself as all is quiet and dark.
The very next morning, do greet baby with a full of energy "Good morning!" Little girl gets super excited and full of energy after a good night's sleep 😊
